It devastated some of the Mexican Gulf costal areas. Among the most hit, New Orleans. Eighty percent of the city is under water (see pictures, streets that are dark are under water) mainly because the average elevation of the city is below sea level (some say the city is a bowl). I saw the video of a car sinking into the moving flow of flood water, and the camera crew ran to rescue the driver inside. Another story is a man who lost his wife (probably dead) to the flood water after holding on to her hand for as long as he could. And the last words he heard from her was 'You can't hold on to me...take care of the kids.' Two school-age boys were standing behind the man, looking lost. I suppose there would be thousands of heartbroken stories that have yet to be reported. The death roll of the catastorphy is feared to be into the thousands. Now the problem at the hands of the authorities is how to get the water out of the bowl.
